As we resume in-person services, the Library will be implementing recommended safety and social distancing measures. Below you will find information about changes to library services for Fall 2020.
As per University policy, facial coverings are required in the Library.
Building Occupancy Limit: 400
There may be times that you will have to wait to enter the Library until other patrons have left. Individual rooms will also have maximum occupancy limits.
Limited number of Computers and Seating Available:
We have reduced the number of computers and seating available in order to maintain the recommended 6 ft distance between each person. Please do not move furniture as it has been placed to achieve the maximum number of seats while still maintaining social distancing.
Safe Handling of Library Materials:
All incoming and returned library materials will be quarantined for 72 hours before being made available. This includes interlibrary loan and MOBIUS requests, as well as items left on tables and shelving carts.
Hand sanitizer will be located throughout the building for you to use before handling library materials. If you have touched items that you do not wish to check out, please leave them on one of the many Red Carts located at the end of the shelving ranges and other spots in the library.
Course Reserves:The Library recommends the use of e-reserves only. Print and DVD reserves will be limited due to the 72 hour quarantine period for physical library materials when they are returned. Faculty: Please see the Course Reserve page for more details.
Requesting MOBIUS and Interlibrary Loan items:
While requesting of physical items has resumed, please be aware that delivery times may be longer due to the quarantining of library materials.
10 Study Rooms will be available for use this fall.
- Located in PML 312, west side of the third floor
- Key can be checked out at the Library Service
- Occupancy - 1 person
- Cleaned after each use
The Starbucks Cafe will have regular hours starting on August 17th. Most seating has been removed to ensure appropriate social distancing.
Housekeeping crews will clean the building based on CDC guidelines; special attention will be placed on high-touch services such as tables and computers. Self-service hand sanitizer and wipe dispensers are located on each floor of the Library.
