Systems |
Technical Services is responsible for the ordering, receiving, cataloging, and processing of materials for the library. Functional areas of the department include: Acquisitions, Serials, Cataloging (including library database maintenance), Mail, Binding, and Processing.
Each year the department receives approximately 30,000 new items in multiple formats: print, microforms, videocassettes, DVDs, audiocassettes, audio books, laser discs, music compact discs, CD-ROMs, computer software, maps, art prints, three-dimensional objects, and web database access. 3,403 current subscriptions are held for newspapers, periodicals, and other standing order publications, including electronic titles.
Systems staff upgrade and maintain library microcomputer equipment and applications.
