Policies -- What you can check out and how long you can keep it.

Your Library account - See what you have out
and date due, AND renew materials without having to bring them to
the Library. When you log on, use the 9-digit number under
your name on
your University ID and tsu. Example: 000012345tsu
You can also save searches to run
weekly and keep a record
of books you check out.
Books and more--
Audiobooks, Videos/DVDs,
CDs/Cassettes,

When it's not in the Library --Try MOBIUS or Interlibrary Loan
When the item you want is checked out
-- Place a recall or
order it through MOBIUS.

Current Awareness Services
Article & Journal Table of Contents Services
(1) Library subscriptions
- Select up to 8 periodicals which the Library subscribes to and
receive photocopies of the tables of contents whenever the new
issues arrive in the Library. You may select from the
List of Current Subscriptions. You will be contacted at the
beginning of each fall semester for changes in your choices.

the Periodicals Department for more information.

IngentaConnect e-mail alerts
- select periodicals from the
Ingenta List to receive
electronic copies of the tables of contents. The table of contents
will come to your e-mail address automatically as they are
published. Full-text articles are available by clicking on the
titles in the tables of contents. Contact
Susan Hamilton to set up
your account.

EBSCO journal alert
- Select journal titles from the various EBSCOhost databases to
receive e-mail alerts when new issues are added to the database.
If the journals are available full-text, you will be able to click
to get the articles.

EBSCO search alert -
EBSCO databases allow you to store searches and
then will notify you by e-mail when articles that meet your search
criteria are added to the database.

You can
sign up to
be notified by e-mail when the list of
new materials is posted on the Web.

PicklerAlert - Save
searches in our Library Catalog to run weekly.
You'll be alerted by e-mail when new items match your searches.

Publishing
An open access publication is one that provides immediately free
online access to all users worldwide.
Classroom and Research Support
Connecting to databases from home:
On campus you only need to be connected to the University
network.
Off campus you will need
ITS directions
for connection to the proxy
server.
Reserve - You can put books on
reserve at the Circulation Desk for short term loan. You can
also put articles, class notes, old tests, etc. on
electronic reserve so that students have 24/7 access.
Classroom support - Librarians can talk to your classes, create Web pages,
help with assignments, etc.
Ordering materials for the Library -
You may request the Library to purchase books, videos, etc. to add
to the collection.
Photocopying arrangements - See about getting a code to back charge
photocopies to your department. You may also e-mail requests
to pmlcopy@truman.edu

- Commercial reference management software available from ITS.
Get instructions for installing it on your computer, and directions
for downloading references from the library catalog and other
subscription databases.

Truman Week and Extended Truman Week classes - The Library has a
part in the Truman Week activities.
Building Services
The Library provides photocopiers, microform reader/printers, group study rooms, typewriter, computer labs, wireless connections, an Assistive Technology Lab, laminating, transparencies, etc.

University Archives -The Library is the repository for the University Archives. You can find business papers, legal documents, official and unofficial (including student) publications, departmental papers, newsletters, presidential papers, and much more.
Truman student theses - Print copies are available in the Library's collection, and from 1997 they are also available online.
