Borrowing Books and Using Other Libraries
If you are teaching away from Kirksville, you may visit any MOBIUS library and check out books using your Truman I.D. You may also order books through MOBIUS (from Truman or elsewhere) at any time; you can request that the books be sent to any MOBIUS library--wherever it is most convenient for you.
Items not available
through our library or MOBIUS may be requested through the
Interlibrary Loan Office. Items will be FAXed or mailed to you.

need from periodicals in our collection. These must be articles
relating to your course work or teaching responsibilities.
Contact: Susan Hamilton at 660-785-4043, or e-mail
shamilto@truman.edu
Also, copies of ERIC documents published
before 1993 will be sent to you as needed,
although there is a limit of about 50 pages on photocopying ERIC
documents. Documents published after 1993 are available online
through the official ERIC site
which is free to the public.
Contact: Daisy Rearick at 660-785-4048, or e-mail drearick@truman.edu for more information.
You should use the databases on the Education Research Guide. You can access our subscription-based databases when you are off campus. Select the mode of access below and follow the directions:
Virtual Private Network (VPN) - If you have a broadband high
speed connection.
Proxy Server - If you are using a commercial dial-up system
(e.g. Mark Twain or Nemr) and have a regular phone modem for speeds
up to 56kbps.
If you are unable to access a database you need, a reference librarian will search the database and FAX or email the results to you. You may select the items you need and send your requests back. Contact Daisy Rearick at 660-785-4048 or drearick@truman.edu
Curriculum Library books will be
loaned to interns for 14 days, subject to recall if needed by
another user. You may request the books to be mailed if you
are unable to get to Kirksville to check them out. You may
also renew them online through
your
account in the library catalog.
Note: If you don't return recalled books on time, the fine is
$1.00 per day.
