Truman's Library Catalog and Missouri Union Catalog MOBIUS

You can limit your search to Truman's catalog.  If you are unable to find what you want, you can go to the MOBIUS central catalog, which is a union catalog of over 50 academic libraries in Missouri.

1.  SPECIAL features:
 

REQUEST THIS ITEM - Available in the MOBIUS catalog providing statewide direct borrowing from other Missouri college libraries.

VIEW YOUR ACCOUNT - Your name and BannerID number, then add tsu
Find out what books you have checked out, if you owe fines, etc., even renew your books from home or office.

          COURSE RESERVES - Find by course name or instructor name.

     2.  AUTHOR searches
            Last name first.  Punctuation and caps not needed.
                  monet

     3.  TITLE searches
            Type the first few words of the title.  They must be in correct order.
            art has many faces
            art has many
            Disregard a, an, the and their foreign equivalents when they are the first word.
            history of renaissance art      NOT  the history of renaissance art
            Always try alternatives.
                   nato
                    n.a.t.o.
            To stop truncation of a title, use the pipe |  (Located above the ENTER key - Use shift)
                   time
                   time|

      4.  AUTHOR/TITLE searches
            Use the last name of the author and any word(s) in the title.
                    author - hemingway
                    title     - tolls bell

     5.  SUBJECT (Library of Congress) searches
            Subject searches look for terms only in the subject field.
            The terms and format are set by the Library of Congress:
                    art france history
            The pipe stops the system from searching further.
                   art
                   art|
            When a subject search yields nothing, you will be prompted to try a keyword search.
                   history of golf

     6.  KEYWORD searches
            All one- and two-letter words are disregarded.
                   cost of living
                    vitamin c
            Use the asterisk * to truncate.
                   history
                    histor*
            Use Boolean AND/OR/NOT along with nesting for complex searches.
                   art and therapy
                   drawing or painting
                    color or colour
                    painting not watercolor
                   (england or britain) and (middle ages or medieval) and painting
            When no operator is given, the system assumes AND.
            Each of these will give the same results:
                   art therapy
                    therapy art
                    art and therapy

     7.  SEARCH history
            Click on the arrow to bring down the searches you have done.
            You can click on any one of them to bring back the search results.

      8.  LIMIT/SORT by language, format, publisher, date, etc.
            Available only after you have done a search.
