Pickler Memorial Library Services

MOBIUS

You will often find references to materials that we do not have in our library.  MOBIUS, a consortium of academic libraries throughout Missouri, allows Truman students to access books from other academic libraries in the state.   You can access the MOBIUS union catalog from the library's home page under Search for Books and Other Media link.  There is no charge for this service.  You can expect to receive books requested through MOBIUS within 2-3 business days.  You will receive and e-mail notifying you that the book has arrived.

Interlibrary Loan

For books not available through MOBIUS, you can make requests through our Interlibrary Loan service.  Books can be borrowed at no charge.  For journal articles, there is a cost of 10 cents per page.  The forms needed to make Interlibrary Loan requests are available from the library's home page under Forms.  You will find one form for books and one for journal articles.

Reference Desk

A reference librarian is on duty until 10 pm every night except Saturday to help you with your research.  You may ask for help at any time.  If you have a particularly complex research problem you can make an appointment with a reference librarian to get extended assistance.   You may also use our "Ask a Librarian" service to ask questions by e-mail (accessed from the library's home page).   A librarian will try to respond to your question within 24 hours.  Again, if it is a more involved question that might require extended discussion, it would be better to come to the Reference Desk and see someone in person.

Computer Labs

Information Technology Services (formerly Computing Services) operates two open labs, maintaining the same hours as the library. The Teaching & Learning Technology Center is on second floor and is a specialized production lab where staff can help you scan images and produce presentations.  This lab has hours different from the library and the other computing labs on third floor.  Their hours are posted on their door (PML 203, x7375).
