This was the home of Mrs A F Towers, a dressmaker, in 1892 and numerous families lived in it over the next few years.  Lonnie F Gibbs, an officer of Kirksville Trust Co, lived here from about 1915 until his suicide in Mar 1923. His death opened an investigation which revealed that he had embezzled thousands of dollars from the firm and eventually led to his father’s imprisonment and later suicide.
