Truman Presidential Oral History Collection - Microforms
Location: Microfiche Cabinet 23, Drawer 7
Scope: This collection contains the transcripts of 389 interviews from the holdings of the Harry S. Truman Library which include recollections of Turman's presidency, politics, and personal life. After President Truman left office in 1953, the organizers of the Harry S. These collected transcripts add new detail on Truman's life that cannot be found elsewhere.
How to search the collection: Interviews are organized in alphabetical order by the name of the interviewee. There is an accompanying index entitled The Harry S Truman Oral Histories Collection (Microfiche Cabinet 23, Drawer 7 Index) which gives biographical summaries, connections with President Truman, and agencies and organizations with which the interviewees were associated. The biographical summaries include the date or range of dates on which the interview was conducted as well as a brief outline of highlights in the career of the interviewee.
