How to Renew

You can renew items you have checked out by logging into your Library Account. To log on, use the 9-digit
number under your name on your student ID, and add tsu. (Example:  000012345tsu). The first time you log on you will have to create a PIN. Once you are in your account click on the "Items currently checked out" link. From there you can choose to Renew all or just selected items.

You can also save searches to run weekly and keep a record of books you check out in your Library Account.

Course reserves are course-related materials that your professors make available, either electronically or physically, through the Library. Items that your professors may have "on reserve" for a class include: books, book chapters, journal articles, CDs, Videos, and practice exams etc...

Use the Reserves search form to find items by class or instructor. Your instructor should give you a course password to access electronic Reserves for a class.

Loan periods for Reserves vary; they can be 2 hour, 4 hour, 24 hour, or 72 hour depending on the item. Check you due date slip and return items promptly. Fines for Reserve materials are 60 cents an hour.

Request Books through MOBIUS

MOBIUS links over 60 Missouri academic libraries so that you can borrow books from these libraries by requesting them online.  When viewing a title in the MOBIUS Catalog just click the "REQUEST THIS ITEM" link. A delivery service brings what you've ordered generally within 3-4  working days.  You will be notified by Truman e-mail when the books arrive.  Pick up and return books at the Library Service Desk (University ID required).  You can keep them for 21-days with two 21-day renewals if not needed elsewhere.  You can renew them online through your Library account.  There is no charge for this service.  (NOTE:  You cannot order articles or videos  through MOBIUS)

Request Items through Interlibrary loan

When MOBIUS doesn't have what you need, you can try interlibrary loan.

For books and media items you can search WorldCat,  which contains more than 60 million records for material in libraries in the United States and around the world.  You can order online.  Pick up and return items at the Library Service Desk (University ID required).  These items come in the mail and  therefore take longer to arrive than MOBIUS books.  Loan periods are set by the lending library.  To renew, you must contact the Interlibrary Loan Office

For articles you can order them directly while search most databases, including the EBSCOHost, FirstSearch, or Gale databases. You can also request articles by logging onto Interlibrary Loan Services.

Library Cards

Your Truman ID is your library card. Truman faculty/staff and their designated guests, or students who do not have a university ID should go to the ID Office (Missouri Hall 1100).

Missouri residents at least 16 years of age may apply for a Community Borrower Library card at the Library Service Desk.

You can renew your books or get a list of items you currently have checked out by viewing your library account.
