Food, Beverages and Tobacco Policy

Effective Date, September 1, 1999

NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE LIBRARY.  This is to protect library materials
from damage either directly from the spillage or indirectly by the pests attracted to spills. Water in closed bottles is permissible in areas where there is no electronic equipment.

Before you enter the building,  please dispose of all beverages and food and put empty permanent containers in your book bag.

Library staff members who find you with food or beverages will ask you to leave the building if you want to finish eating or drinking; otherwise they will collect and dispose of the items.  Permanent containers will be emptied and returned to you.
 

TOBACCO.  You must  go outside to smoke or use smokeless tobacco products.   Dispose of lighted cigarettes, pipes, cigars and chewing tobacco and spit containers before entering the building.  Truman University campus is tobacco free except in dorm rooms (Chapter 12 Section 12.030.2 of University’s Code of Policies.)     Copies of the Code of Policies are on Reserve in the Library.
