Borrowing Policies for Undergraduate Students


You may have up to 150 items checked out at any given time.

Kits 3 days    (1 renewal) $1.00 per day
Maps 14 days  (1 renewal) 15 cents per day
Media Reserve Varies:  2, 4, 24, or 72 hours (1 renewal) 60 cents per hour
MOBIUS
(limit 20 items at a time)
21 days  (2 renewals) If not returned promptly, user will be billed $120 (minimum) in replacement costs
Multi-Media 3 days     (1 renewal) $1.00 per day
Oversize 30 days   (5 renewals) 15 cents per day
Posters 14 days   (1 renewal) 15 cents per day
Reserve Varies:  2, 24, or 72 hours  (1 renewal) 60 cents per hour
Scores 30 days   (5 renewals) 15 cents per day
Videos/DVDs 3 days     (1 renewal) $1.00 per day

*Renewals possible only when item has NOT been requested by someone else.

Items in the following locations may not be checked out:
             Reference,  Periodicals,  Microforms,  Special Collections

You must show a current Truman ID  to check out materials, and you are responsible for everything you check out.  All borrowers may be subject to overdue fines, processing/billing fees, damaged and/or lost book charges for library materials checked out on their cards.

If you need an item that is checked out,  you may request a RECALL for that item at the Circulation Desk.  Once the recall is initiated, the item must be returned within two weeks. Failure to respond to such a notice will result in a fine of $1.00 per day and/or suspension of borrowing privileges. Recalled material may be picked up at the Circulation Desk.  It will be held there for seven days.  After seven days the material will be returned to the shelves and available to anyone.  All materials are subject to recall.

Theft or mutilation of library materials or property could result in disciplinary action Truman State University.

The library reserves the right to suspend borrowing privileges for abuses of circulation policies. In accordance with Right to Privacy Laws, the registration and circulation records of all library users remain confidential.

Truman State University lost/damaged materials will be paid for along with an additional $20 non-refundable billing fee will also be assessed.   Click here for Replacement Costs for various types of material.
