Collection of electronic texts, mostly computer and technical books and manuals. Limit 5 simultaneous users.
Though Safari has a collection of thousands of titles, Truman's subscription allows us access to a "bookshelf" of only 50 at a time. Library staff can add books to the bookshelf upon request. The default search in Safari gives results only from the 50 on our bookshelf. Click the "Explore" button to expand your search to the complete collection. Click the "Suggest this title" button to request that a title be added to our bookshelf. Please allow 1-3 days for response.

ScienceDirect is a website which provides subscription-based access to a large database of scientific and medical research published by Elsevier. Truman has a very small number of the titles published by Elsevier. The journals are grouped into four main sections: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Article abstracts are freely available, but access to their full texts (in PDF and, for newer publications, also HTML) generally requires a subscription or pay-per-view purchase. These articles can also be requested on Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

A comprehensive sociology research database with more than 1.9 million records and the full text for over 400 journals dating back to 1908. Also contains full text for more than 700 books and monographs and more than 6000 conference papers. Journals related to Criminology & Criminal Justice, Education, Gender Studies/GLBT Studies, History, and Education are also found in this database. For some journals, there may be a 12 month delay in provision of full text content.
