Detailed description of 10,500 chemicals, drugs and biological substances.  Gives chemical name, CAS registry number, molecular formula, physical properties, references, some structure images, derivative compounds, alternate names, therapeutic uses.  There are several special indexes including one for name reactions.

SciFinder Scholar - Chemical Abstracts. 1907+.  Users may search more than 19 million citations to the chemistry literature by topic, author, CAS Registry Numbers, patent number, and CAS abstract number. This database is available only on computers no. 31, 32, 33 in the Reference area of the library; the back row of the Computer Lab in Magruder Hall and the Chemistry Study area in Magruder Hall.   • Journals  Tab  Provides a search box for specific magazine, newspaper or journal titles.  For example you need to type the journal title Scientific American into the box on the Journal Tab to find an article in that specific journal.
