McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology - Ref Q 121 M3 2007 - Use this for general science questions.
Merck Index - Ref RS 51 M4 2006 - Use this to find the physical properties for common substances. It also has some references to literature and some substances have pictures.
Merck Manual - Ref RC 55 M4 2006 - Use this to find out about diseases. It includes: symptoms and signs, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.
New York Public Library Science Desk Reference - Ref Q 173 B25 1995 - Use this to find out weird science facts. It is like an almanac.
Wikipedia - Although this is a free encyclopedia built by a lot of people, it is really good for getting the basic facts about science. Don't use it for any topic that is controversial. It has references at the bottom of most articles.
