Borrowing Policies for Visitors
Missouri residents at least 16 years of age may
apply for a Community Borrowers card at the Circulation Desk. You may fill
out the application form at the Desk or you can
copy and fill out this
form and bring it in with you.
Borrowers are
responsible for all materials they check out, and they are expected to return
materials when due. Borrowers may be subject to overdue fines,
processing/billing fees, damaged and/or lost book charges for library materials
checked out on their cards.

| Loan period is 14
days. Items may be renewed once for 14 days. Overdue fines are 15 cents per day. All items are subject to RECALL. Recall fine on all items is $1.00 per day. Guests may have 15 items checked out at one time. |

The Community Borrowers card is permanent and is not transferable to
another person. You may use this card for three months. After the
three months you may renew it for a year at a time if you are still living in
Missouri and have no overdue items or unpaid fines.
When your card expires, present it along with your identification to the Circulation Desk in order to have your library privileges extended for another year. If you lose your card, a replacement fee of $3.00 will be charged to create a new card for you.
You can renew your books or get a list of items you currently have checked out by viewing your library account.
The library reserves the right to inspect all cases, bags, parcels, etc. to insure that all library materials are properly checked out.
Theft or mutilation of library materials or property could result in disciplinary action by Truman State University.
The library reserves the right to suspend borrowing privileges for abuses of circulation policies. In accordance with Right to Privacy Laws, the registration and circulation records of all library users remain confidential.
Truman State University lost/damaged materials will be paid for along with an additional $20 non-refundable billing fee will also be assessed. Click here for Replacement Costs for various types of material.
