Scope
This collection provides memorandum, newspaper articles and other documents concerning the shooting of four students at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio on May 4, 1970, during a protest of the Vietnam War, and the fire that consumed the university’s ROTC building on May 2, 1970.

How to search the collection
This collection is contained on seven reels. There is a Table of Contents which is repeated at the beginning of each reel, but gives very little topical information:

As with other materials provided by the FBI, documents on the microfilm are in the order in which they were released and the collection is in approximate chronological order, beginning with a memorandum from May 5, 1970, the day following the shootings.
